1947, The catastrophic world war was then coming to an end. Shri Janaki Jeevan Sen, a son of Bikrampur in Dhaka district, entered the land of Narayanpur as a messenger of God at a time when the people of our country were immersed in the darkness of illiteracy, economically, socially and culturally due to British exploitation, oppression and misrule. He initially started the work of running a school in the thatched house of Shri Atul Krishna Hajra in Narayanpur.
After this, on 20th January, 1949, with the great efforts of Shri Dhananjay Gayen, a devout zamindar and truly passionate educationist, with the tireless cooperation of the local people on the land given by him, Janaki Babu's indomitable zeal, hard work and tireless efforts started the construction of school houses.
Today, where the huge building named Namkhana Narayan Vidyamandir stands with its head held high, is exactly the same place where 74 years ago today, a child Narayan Vidyamandir with a tin shed was built on a raw brick wall. On that day, Zamindar Gayen Babu and local educationists took the responsibility of raising this newborn. Revered Janaki Babu took the responsibility of proper care to raise the newborn. The day the newborn was able to stand on its own two feet and receive recognition and official approval for its existence, we remember the generous support and cooperation of all the donors, parents, teachers, educators, educators and the general public in 1952, Junior High School. It was approved by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education as a high school in 1961 and a higher secondary education institution in 1981 with classes XI and XII.
Experienced teachers in the Departments of Science, Arts, and Commerce are engaged in teaching. All measures have already been taken to enrich it in practical matters. The trend of admirable success of secondary and higher secondary examinations continues every year. West Bengal State Council Vocational Education and Training approved vocational education and training in the school has started from the last academic year 2006-2007. Vocational department has been introduced in higher secondary and vocational education and training has been started in tailoring course for the students who have passed 8th class. Students are the lifeblood of the school, students are the assets of the school, the future of the future.
